A mid metallic grey is the right weight of colour for a car this large. White makes a full-size SUV look like a fleet vehicle and black makes it look heavy; grey keeps the long flank and the blistered arches legible without either. On the Q7, whose shape is deliberately restrained, it is the finish the design was drawn for.

It is a practical choice for the work this car does. Grey does not glare on a long freeway day, does not show the dust a canyon or a beach car park leaves, and looks equally correct at a hotel entrance and outside a house. Take it when the week involves moving people and you would rather the car were competent than conspicuous.

The Q7 is the Audi for people who actually need seven seats and do not want to arrive in something that looks like a shuttle. The third row folds flat into the floor and rises electrically, so most of the week it is a very large five-seat SUV with an enormous boot, and on the day you need it, it carries seven.

What sets it apart on a long day is refinement. Air suspension smooths out the patched surfaces on the 10, wind noise is unusually well suppressed at freeway speed, and quattro all-wheel drive makes it completely unbothered by a wet morning on the coast road. The cabin is the part Audi has always done best — quiet, solid and free of the fussiness that makes big SUVs tiring.

Honest hook: with all seven seats up, boot space is modest. If you are collecting seven people and seven suitcases from LAX, the Cadillac Escalade ESV in the fleet is the car for that and this one is not.

  • Three rows — the third folds flat into the floor when you do not need it
  • Air suspension and quattro: quiet, settled, surefooted
  • An enormous boot in five-seat configuration
  • Metallic grey over large bright alloys · $179 a day

The terms, before you commit

Refundable deposit
$750
A hold, not a charge. Back with you 5–7 business days after the car is home.
Damage and liability cover
$100 a day
Mandatory, and priced off the deposit rather than the rate. Your own qualifying full-coverage policy takes this line out of the quote entirely.
Driver, 21–24
$50 a day
Twenty-one is the floor, with a licence held two years. The higher band applies above a $1,500 deposit; this car is below it.
Shortest booking
24 hours
No maximum. Delivery is complimentary at our Robertson Boulevard lot and our four Beverly Hills partner hotels; LAX is $75 to the parking structure or $150 to the terminal, each way.

This one is the same rate at every length — it carries no multi-day block, so three days is three times one day. We would rather say that than imply a discount that is not there.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does it cost to rent an Audi Q7 in Los Angeles?
$179 a day, with multi-day and weekly stays discounted. Delivery is complimentary to our Beverly Hills partner hotels.
Does it fit seven people and their luggage?
Seven people, yes. Seven people and full-size cases, no — with the third row up the boot is modest. For that combination take the Cadillac Escalade ESV, which is the long-wheelbase car built for exactly this.
What do I need to rent it, and can international guests book?
A full licence held for at least a year, a major credit card in the driver's name, and proof of insurance. International guests can rent on a passport and home-country licence. A refundable security deposit is held and returned in 5–7 business days.
Is this the only Q7 you have?
It is. If you want a smaller Audi SUV, the Q5 and the Q3 are both in the fleet; for a larger seven-seater, the Cadillac Escalade ESV.
How does the third row actually work?
It folds flat into the floor and rises electrically from the boot. Most of the week it is out of the way and you have a very large boot; it takes a few seconds to change that.

We rented the Urus for 2 days while in town for World Cup, they accommodated a last second booking, made the whole process a breeze, and picked the car up from the airport for us so we could save some time before leaving, all at a great price for what was offered. Would definitely rent from them again!
