Every Seamless Panel

Silver Land Rover Range Rover Velar

The best-looking SUV in the fleet, in the satin grey-silver Land Rover shows it in — where every seamless panel on it reads.

The Velar's whole argument is that it has no seams. Silver is what makes that visible.

The Velar is the Range Rover that was designed as an object first. Flush door handles that rise when you approach, a body with almost no visible seams, and the thinnest headlamps Land Rover has ever fitted — it won design awards on looks alone and then turned out to drive well too. Five seats, a wide flat boot, and the clearance for a canyon turnout or a steep driveway.

Silver Range Rover Velar from the rear three-quarter on Mulholland Drive
01A curve of Mulholland in the late afternoon: the sloping tailgate and the black roof against the hillside.

Silver is the finish Land Rover shows this car in, and the reason is simple: only a bright metallic makes the absence of seams visible. The unbroken run from the headlamp to the tail light, the handles sitting flush in the doors, the shoulder that catches the light along the whole flank — on this satin grey-silver, with the black roof and the black wheels, all of it reads at once.

The styling costs some practicality: the sloping tailgate makes the boot long rather than tall, and the slim rear window is what you get for the roofline. It is quiet at freeway speed in a way that makes a long day easy. Three Velars are in the fleet — this one, a bronze and a black — and the dates on each page are the car's own.

No seams.
Silver is what makes that visible.

Queries

How much does it cost to rent a silver Range Rover Velar in Los Angeles?
The silver Velar is $171 a day. The day rate is the whole of it on this car — there is no weekly or monthly block, so a longer booking is priced day by day. Delivery to our Beverly Hills partner hotels is complimentary; LAX delivery is charged each way, in two tiers, and the figures are on our delivery page.
Velar or Range Rover Sport?
The Velar is the design object; the Sport is the bigger, faster car with the taller boot. For two people, a hotel and the coast road, the Velar is the one people photograph. For four with luggage, the Sport is on its own page.
What do the flush door handles do?
They sit flat in the door until you unlock the car, then rise to meet your hand. It is the detail guests notice first, and the one that makes the car look the way it does from the side — there is nothing on the panel to interrupt it.
How do the three Velars differ?
Paint. This is the silver car with the black roof and wheels; the bronze one shares them, and the black one is on its own page with its own dates. Pick by colour and by the diary.
Can I see the dates before I call?
Yes — the diary on this page is the live fleet calendar. If a date is open there, it is open.

The terms, before you commit

Refundable deposit
$750
A hold, not a charge. Back with you 5–7 business days after the car is home.
Damage and liability cover
$100 a day
Mandatory, and priced off the deposit rather than the rate. Your own qualifying full-coverage policy takes this line out of the quote entirely.
Driver, 21–24
$50 a day
Twenty-one is the floor, with a licence held two years. The higher band applies above a $1,500 deposit; this car is below it.
Shortest booking
24 hours
No maximum. Delivery is complimentary at our Robertson Boulevard lot and our four Beverly Hills partner hotels; LAX is $75 to the parking structure or $150 to the terminal, each way.

This one is the same rate at every length — it carries no multi-day block, so three days is three times one day. We would rather say that than imply a discount that is not there.
