Matte black Mercedes-AMG G 63 from a front three-quarter on a palm-lined Beverly Hills street at dusk

Satin Black Starlit Roof

Mercedes-AMG G 63

The AMG G-Class in a black that does not shine, with red calipers on black wheels and a roof lining full of blue stars.

Matte paint takes the reflections off the G 63. What is left is the shape, the red calipers and, after dark, the roof.

The G 63 is the G-Class with the AMG 4.0L twin-turbo V8: 577 hp, about 4.5 seconds to 60, upright glass and flat panels that have barely changed in decades. This one is a 2021 in satin matte black over black leather, on black AMG wheels with red calipers, with a fibre-optic star-light headliner.

Matte black Mercedes-AMG G 63 from a front three-quarter with its black wheels and red calipers
01Front three-quarter with the nose to the right: the flat bonnet, the side step and the black wheel with its red caliper.

Matte suits a car this square. Gloss black throws back every palm tree and parked car on the street; satin black does not, so the flat bonnet, the round headlamps and the vertical-slat grille read as one solid block. The only colour on the outside is red, in the brake calipers behind the black multi-spoke AMG wheels, which wear Pirelli Scorpion Zero tyres.

Inside it is diamond-quilted black leather front and back, on the seats and on the doors. Two widescreens share one wide frame across the dash, with the chrome grab handle on the passenger side that every G-Class has had, and a line of blue ambient light runs along the dash and the doors.

Then the roof. The headliner is fibre-optic: small points of blue light across the whole lining, so after dark the cabin sits under a night sky. Five seats, a full rear bench, and a V8 that is audible long before you see the car.

Book it by the day: the deposit is held on the card rather than charged, and the car arrives hand-detailed at your hotel, your home or LAX. For a few hours — an arrival, a shoot, an evening — call +1 (424) 303-6496 and we arrange it.

More about the Matte Black Mercedes-AMG G 63

Matte black or gloss black?

Both are the same Mercedes-AMG G 63, with the 577 hp V8 and five seats. Gloss black is the classic look and shows every reflection; the matte car takes the reflections off the body and puts the red calipers and the star-light cabin in front. The model page has them together.

Queries

Where can I rent a Mercedes AMG G 63 in Los Angeles?
Nizo Luxury rents the Mercedes AMG G 63 in Los Angeles — +1 (424) 303-6496. It is $799 a day; we bring it to your hotel or your home, or you collect it at no charge from our office on Robertson Boulevard.
How much does it cost to rent the matte black G 63 in Los Angeles?
The matte black Mercedes-AMG G 63 is $799 a day. The day rate is the whole of it on this car — there is no weekly or monthly block, so a longer booking is priced day by day. Delivery to our Beverly Hills partner hotels is complimentary.
What is the star-light roof?
A fibre-optic headliner: small points of blue light across the roof lining, like a night sky. It is at its best after dark, from either row of seats.
Is it different from the gloss black G 63?
The same G 63 underneath — 577 hp, five seats, four-wheel drive. The finish is the difference you see first: satin matte black, with red calipers and black AMG wheels.
Does matte paint need special care?
Not from you. We wash and prepare it before every delivery; drive it as you would any other car.
Can I see the dates before I call?
Yes — the diary on this page is the live fleet calendar. If a date is open there, it is open.

Refundable deposit
$1,500
A hold, not a charge, and released 5–7 business days after a clean return, longer only if there is damage to price.
Protection plan
$225 a day
Priced off the deposit rather than the rate. Your own qualifying full-coverage policy takes this line out of the quote entirely.
Driver, 21–24
$175 a day
Twenty-one is the floor, with a licence held two years. The higher band applies at or above a $1,500 deposit; this car is in it.
Shortest booking
24 hours
No maximum. Delivery is complimentary at our Robertson Boulevard lot and our four Beverly Hills partner hotels; LAX is $150 both ways with the car in the airport parking structure or $300 both ways to the terminal, half that for one direction.

This one is the same rate at every length — it carries no multi-day block, so three days is three times one day.

Renting the Mercedes AMG G 63: the short answers

Can I book the Mercedes AMG G 63 with a driver?
Yes. A chauffeur is from $100 an hour on a two-hour minimum, added to the car at its day rate — $1,199 for a four-hour evening in this car. No security deposit is taken on a chauffeured booking. The same car can be driven to the event and yours with the keys the morning after; the chauffeur service page has the runs and the hours.
What do I need to rent the Mercedes AMG G 63, and can international guests book?
A driver of 21 or over with a licence held at least two years — between 21 and 24 a young-driver fee of $175 a day applies on this car, and under 21 is considered case by case. A major credit card in the primary renter's name for the refundable hold, and cover for the car: your own full-coverage policy if it extends to a rental, or our Protection plan arranged with the booking. International guests rent on a passport and a home-country licence; no International Driving Permit is needed. The hold is released 5–7 business days after a clean return, longer only if there is damage to price. If the age floor or the cover is the thing in the way, the same car goes out with a driver instead — that booking asks neither of you.
How far ahead should I book the Mercedes AMG G 63, and can I change the dates?
There is no notice period: the calendar on this page shows the days it is free, and once a booking is paid a car that is free can be on its way to you in about an hour — same day included. Moving the dates is free, as often as you need, outside the last day before the start; a change inside it keeps one day's rate. What comes back if you cancel is set out in our terms and conditions.
Can the Mercedes AMG G 63 be delivered to my hotel, my home or LAX?
Yes. Delivery is complimentary to the Beverly Wilshire, the Four Seasons at Doheny, L’Ermitage and the Maybourne, and collection from our Robertson Boulevard office costs nothing. LAX is $150 both ways with the car in the airport parking structure or $300 both ways to the terminal, half that for one direction. Any other address is priced by distance from the office, $75 one way inside 10 miles, and itemised on the quote before you pay.
How many miles are included, and can I take the Mercedes AMG G 63 out of California?
Every car carries its own daily mileage allowance, and yours arrives in writing with the booking confirmation, together with the per-mile rate for anything over it. The car may leave the state — Las Vegas, Arizona, up the coast — as long as you tell us the plan in advance and keep the allowance in mind; it comes home to Los Angeles, since there is no one-way drop in another city.
What does a weekend in the Mercedes AMG G 63 cost, and can I rent it by the hour?
$1,598 for two days and $2,397 for three, before the Protection plan, tax and any delivery — there is no separate weekend rate, and one day is the minimum on a Saturday too. The day is the shortest self-drive booking; by the hour, the car goes out with a driver, from $100 an hour on a two-hour minimum.
