Land Rover spent the redesign taking things off rather than adding them.

The current Range Rover Sport is the one where the handles retract into the doors, the lamps narrowed to slits and the body lost almost every seam it used to have. In white with a black roof it reads as one piece of material rather than a car with trim on it.

A shape this clean is harder than it looks. Flush handles need motors, hidden seams need panels that fit to a tolerance nobody used to bother with, and slim lamps need the electronics moved somewhere else. All of it is invisible, which is the point — the car does not tell you what it cost.

Underneath it is still a Range Rover, which means air suspension that lowers itself at the kerb and a driving position high enough to see over most of what is in front of you. In Los Angeles that combination is worth more than the badge.
