The GLE 53 Coupé is the AMG answer to a question nobody asked and everybody buys: a full-size SUV with the rear roof pulled down into a fastback. A turbocharged straight six, five seats, and a shape that reads as expensive from three blocks away.

What you lose is boot height. What you get is the only large SUV whose profile people actually notice — the roof falls from above the front seats all the way to the tail, and blacked out it is one continuous line.

The engine is the other half. AMG builds the straight six with an electric compressor to fill the gap before the turbo wakes, which is why a car this heavy pulls the moment you ask rather than a beat later.

How much does it cost to rent a Mercedes-AMG GLE 53 in Los Angeles?

The black GLE 53 is $229 a day. Five days is priced as a block rather than as five separate days, and twenty-one as another; the quote takes whichever combination is cheaper for your dates, and neither has to be asked for. Delivery to our Beverly Hills partner hotels is complimentary.

How is it different from a normal GLE?

Refundable deposit: $750; A hold, not a charge. Back with you 5–7 business days after the car is home.
Damage and liability cover: $100 a day; Mandatory, and priced off the deposit rather than the rate. Your own qualifying full-coverage policy takes this line out of the quote entirely.
Driver, 21–24: $50 a day; Twenty-one is the floor, with a licence held two years. The higher band applies above a $1,500 deposit; this car is below it.
