The ESV is the long one, and the extra length goes exactly where it is needed: behind the third row. A standard Escalade with seven people aboard has a boot the size of a parcel shelf. This one has a boot. That single difference is why it is the car that meets flights.

What makes it bearable over a long day is the independent rear suspension. The old Escalade rode like the truck it was built on; this one settles at freeway speed and stays quiet, and the difference over an hour of the 405 is the difference between arriving and enduring. The second row is a pair of captain's chairs with their own climate controls, so the people in the middle are not negotiating with the front.

In black it is the working uniform. This is the finish the car wears outside a hotel, at a terminal kerb and behind a wedding, and the one that makes the chrome mesh grille and the vertical light blades read as deliberate rather than decorative.

How much does it cost to rent a Cadillac Escalade ESV in Los Angeles?
The black ESV is $399 a day. The day rate is the whole of it on this car — there is no weekly or monthly block, so a longer booking is priced day by day. Delivery to our Beverly Hills partner hotels is complimentary; LAX delivery is charged each way, in two tiers, and the figures are on our delivery page.
What is the difference between the Escalade and the Escalade ESV?
About half a metre of length, and all of it behind the third row. Both seat seven. Only the ESV seats seven and carries their luggage at the same time, which is the whole reason to take it to an airport.
Will it fit seven adults and their suitcases from LAX?
Yes — that is the job it was picked for. Seven seats, with a boot behind the third row that takes full-size cases rather than soft bags. If you are seven with a lot of luggage, tell us the flight and we will confirm it against your bag count.
Is it hard to drive and park in Los Angeles?
On a freeway and at a kerb it is superb. In a tight Santa Monica parking structure it is genuinely hard work, and we would rather say so before you book. If the week is mostly city driving for two, a smaller SUV in the fleet is the better car.

Twenty-one is the floor, with a licence held two years. The higher band applies above a $1,500 deposit; this car is below it.

No maximum. Delivery is complimentary at our Robertson Boulevard lot and our four Beverly Hills partner hotels; LAX is $75 to the parking structure or $150 to the terminal, each way.

This one is the same rate at every length — it carries no multi-day block, so three days is three times one day. We would rather say that than imply a discount that is not there.
