Long And Bright

White Cadillac Escalade ESV

The long-wheelbase Escalade in white — seven seats, luggage for all seven, and the version that photographs outdoors.

In black an Escalade registers as bulk. In white you notice how long it actually is.

White is the Escalade for daylight. Against it the bright chrome grille and the vertical light blades read as jewellery rather than as trim, and the sheer length of the ESV becomes the thing people see first. It is the version that looks best in a photograph taken outdoors, which is not a small consideration for the week it is usually booked for.

01Kerbside outside a modern hotel entrance in the morning. Nothing about this car is subtle, and in white it stops pretending to be.

Everything mechanical is the ESV story. The extra length over a standard Escalade sits behind the third row, so seven people and seven suitcases travel together rather than one at the expense of the other. Independent rear suspension keeps it quiet and settled at freeway speed, and the second-row captain's chairs have their own climate controls.

The white brings one practical advantage nobody mentions until August: the cabin is markedly cooler after an afternoon parked in the sun. On a black car in Los Angeles that first ten minutes is a negotiation with the air conditioning. On this one it is not.

Black is for arriving after dark.
This one is for the daylight.

Queries

How much does it cost to rent a white Cadillac Escalade ESV in Los Angeles?
The white ESV is $399 a day, the same as the black and the grey. The day rate is the whole of it on this car — there is no weekly or monthly block, so a longer booking is priced day by day. Delivery to our Beverly Hills partner hotels is complimentary.
Should I take the white one or the black one?
Black is the car-service finish and it is what most people picture. White photographs far better outdoors and stays cooler after an afternoon in the sun. Mechanically they are the same car at the same price, so it is entirely a matter of the week you are having.
Will it fit seven adults and their suitcases from LAX?
Yes — that is the job it was picked for. Seven seats, with a boot behind the third row that takes full-size cases rather than soft bags. Tell us the flight and we will confirm it against your bag count.
Is it hard to drive and park in Los Angeles?
On a freeway and at a kerb it is superb. In a tight Santa Monica parking structure it is genuinely hard work, and we would rather say so before you book.
Can I see the dates before I call?
Yes — the diary on this page is the live fleet calendar. If a date is open there, it is open.

The terms, before you commit

Refundable deposit
$750
A hold, not a charge. Back with you 5–7 business days after the car is home.
Damage and liability cover
$100 a day
Mandatory, and priced off the deposit rather than the rate. Your own qualifying full-coverage policy takes this line out of the quote entirely.
Driver, 21–24
$50 a day
Twenty-one is the floor, with a licence held two years. The higher band applies above a $1,500 deposit; this car is below it.
Shortest booking
24 hours
No maximum. Delivery is complimentary at our Robertson Boulevard lot and our four Beverly Hills partner hotels; LAX is $75 to the parking structure or $150 to the terminal, each way.

This one is the same rate at every length — it carries no multi-day block, so three days is three times one day. We would rather say that than imply a discount that is not there.
