Grey Cadillac Escalade ESV Sport on a cobbled forecourt at golden hour

Space Without The Entrance

Grey Cadillac Escalade ESV

The long-wheelbase Escalade in dark grey, blacked out: the seven seats and the luggage, without announcing either.

Black reads as a car service. White reads as an event. This one reads as a car somebody chose.

The grey ESV is the Sport specification — the black mesh grille with no chrome on it, black badging, black wheels. Combined with a deep metallic grey it turns the most conspicuous SUV in Los Angeles into something you could park outside a house without the neighbours forming a view about it.

01On a canyon overlook at golden hour. The blacked-out grille and wheels are what separate this one from the other two ESVs in the fleet.

Nothing has been given up to get there. It is the same long body with the boot behind the third row, the same independent rear suspension that keeps it quiet at freeway speed, the same second-row captain's chairs with their own climate controls. The difference is entirely in what it says when it pulls up.

It is also the easiest of the three to live with over a week. Dark metallic grey hides Los Angeles dust in a way black cannot — a black ESV looks immaculate for about four hours — and it does not carry the two associations, the car service and the wedding, that the other two finishes bring with them whether you want them or not.

The same car, and none
of the assumptions about it.

Queries

How much does it cost to rent a grey Cadillac Escalade ESV in Los Angeles?
The grey ESV is $399 a day, the same as the black and the white. The day rate is the whole of it on this car — there is no weekly or monthly block, so a longer booking is priced day by day. Delivery to our Beverly Hills partner hotels is complimentary.
What is different about the grey one?
It is the Sport specification: the grille, the badging and the wheels are black rather than chrome. Mechanically it is identical to the other two ESVs at the same rate — the difference is that it is the one that does not look like it came from a car service.
Will it fit seven adults and their suitcases from LAX?
Yes — that is the job it was picked for. Seven seats, with a boot behind the third row that takes full-size cases rather than soft bags. Tell us the flight and we will confirm it against your bag count.
Is it hard to drive and park in Los Angeles?
On a freeway and at a kerb it is superb. In a tight Santa Monica parking structure it is genuinely hard work, and we would rather say so before you book.
Can I see the dates before I call?
Yes — the diary on this page is the live fleet calendar. If a date is open there, it is open.

The terms, before you commit

Refundable deposit
$750
A hold, not a charge. Back with you 5–7 business days after the car is home.
Damage and liability cover
$100 a day
Mandatory, and priced off the deposit rather than the rate. Your own qualifying full-coverage policy takes this line out of the quote entirely.
Driver, 21–24
$50 a day
Twenty-one is the floor, with a licence held two years. The higher band applies above a $1,500 deposit; this car is below it.
Shortest booking
24 hours
No maximum. Delivery is complimentary at our Robertson Boulevard lot and our four Beverly Hills partner hotels; LAX is $75 to the parking structure or $150 to the terminal, each way.

This one is the same rate at every length — it carries no multi-day block, so three days is three times one day. We would rather say that than imply a discount that is not there.
