Graphite grey is the Wrangler that looks the most capable standing still. It is a dark, flat, almost matte-looking shade against which the black arches, the black wheels and the red tow hooks on the front bumper all stand out — and those hooks are the detail that tells you this car is specified to be used rather than parked.

Grey is the sensible middle of the four Wranglers we run. It does not bake like the black one, does not show every mark like the white one, and does not commit to a look the way the sage green does. It photographs well against dry hillside and against wet asphalt, which covers most of what a week here will throw at it. Take it if you want the capable-looking Wrangler without the green.

The Wrangler is the only vehicle in this fleet whose shape is a functional argument rather than a styling one. The doors come off, the roof comes off, the windscreen folds, and the reason the sides are flat and the corners are square is so that none of that is difficult. Four doors means it is a usable car the rest of the time — five seats, a square boot, and a back row adults fit in.

In Los Angeles it earns its keep twice. On the coast road with the top open it is the best-feeling car here for the money, and on a fire road above Malibu or the sand at the end of a beach track it goes where nothing else in the fleet will. Solid axles and a proper low range are not decoration.

Honest hook: it is loud on the freeway and it is not the car for a long motorway day. Everything it gives up, it gives up on purpose.

  • Roof panels out in two minutes — the best open-air car here for the money
  • Genuinely capable on a fire road or a beach access track
  • Four doors, five seats, a square boot
  • Pale sage green over black wheels and a black hard top · $199 a day

The terms, before you commit

Refundable deposit
$500
A hold, not a charge. Back with you 5–7 business days after the car is home.
Damage and liability cover
$75 a day
Mandatory, and priced off the deposit rather than the rate. Your own qualifying full-coverage policy takes this line out of the quote entirely.
Driver, 21–24
$50 a day
Twenty-one is the floor, with a licence held two years. The higher band applies above a $1,500 deposit; this car is below it.
Shortest booking
24 hours
No maximum. Delivery is complimentary at our Robertson Boulevard lot and our four Beverly Hills partner hotels; LAX is $75 to the parking structure or $150 to the terminal, each way.

This one is the same rate at every length — it carries no multi-day block, so three days is three times one day. We would rather say that than imply a discount that is not there.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does it cost to rent a Jeep Wrangler in Los Angeles?
$199 a day, with multi-day and weekly stays discounted. Delivery is complimentary to our Beverly Hills partner hotels.
Can I take the roof or the doors off?
The roof panels over the front seats come out in a couple of minutes and travel in the boot — we will show you how at handover. The doors stay on: removing them is a workshop job and the car needs its mirrors.
Can I take it off-road?
On maintained fire roads and beach access tracks, yes, and it is genuinely capable there. Rock crawling and dune driving are not covered — ask us before you plan anything more serious than a graded dirt road.
What do I need to rent it, and can international guests book?
A full licence held for at least a year, a major credit card in the driver's name, and proof of insurance. International guests can rent on a passport and home-country licence. A refundable security deposit is held and returned in 5–7 business days.
What are the red hooks on the front for?
Recovery points — they are what a tow strap attaches to. They are a sign the car is specified for real use, and we would rather you did not need them.
Do you have the Wrangler in other colours?
Yes — white, sage green, black and a blue one are all in the fleet.

We rented the Urus for 2 days while in town for World Cup, they accommodated a last second booking, made the whole process a breeze, and picked the car up from the airport for us so we could save some time before leaving, all at a great price for what was offered. Would definitely rent from them again!
