Yellow Maserati Grecale Trofeo from a low front three-quarter on a palm-lined Beverly Hills street

Supercar Engine

Maserati Grecale Trofeo

The same body as the Grecale below it, and under the bonnet the twin-turbo V6 Maserati built for the MC20.

Maserati built this engine for a two-seat supercar. Then it put five seats around it.

The Trofeo is the fast Grecale: 523 horsepower from the three-litre twin-turbo Nettuno V6 that Maserati developed for the MC20, sixty in 3.6 seconds, and a top speed of 177. Ours is a PrimaSerie launch car, in yellow, on twenty-one-inch wheels.

01The same silhouette as the black Grecale, on a different set of feet — twenty-one inches of wheel, and a red caliper behind each one.

The engine is the whole story. The Nettuno was designed for the MC20 — a mid-engined two-seat supercar — and it lights its mixture twice over, through a pre-chamber of the kind Formula One made famous. Maserati then dropped it into a family-sized SUV, which is either absurd or exactly the point, depending on how you feel about five seats that reach sixty in three point six seconds.

Everything around it is the Grecale you already know: the same body, the same three vents in the wing, the same cabin. What changes is the stance and the hardware — twenty-one-inch wheels, red calipers showing through the spokes, a deeper front with carbon at the nose, and four pipes under the rear diffuser. One shape, two temperaments, and this is the loud one.

02The two things that tell a Trofeo from a Grecale across a car park: four pipes under the diffuser, and red filling the wheel.

Queries

How much does it cost to rent a Maserati Grecale Trofeo in Los Angeles?
The yellow Trofeo is $300 a day. A shorter booking is priced day by day; the saving on this car arrives at the twenty-one-day block, which the quote applies for you. Delivery to our Beverly Hills partner hotels is complimentary.
What is the difference between the Grecale and the Grecale Trofeo?
The engine, and everything Maserati added around it. The Trofeo carries the three-litre twin-turbo Nettuno V6 built for the MC20 supercar — 523 horsepower, sixty in 3.6 seconds — on twenty-one-inch wheels, with four exhaust pipes and a deeper front. We keep both: a black Grecale GT and this yellow Trofeo.
Is it still usable every day?
Five seats, a normal boot, and air suspension that softens when you ask it to. It is a fast SUV rather than a stripped one, and it sits a size below a Levante — which in Los Angeles is the size that parks.
Can I see the dates before I call?
