Black Maserati Grecale from a low front three-quarter on a palm-lined Beverly Hills street

Named for a Wind

Black Maserati Grecale

Maserati names its cars after winds. The Grecale is the north-easterly, and the smallest SUV the marque has built.

The trident, an Italian cabin, and a size that parks.

The Grecale is Maserati's mid-size SUV, and it arrives in a class where nearly every rival comes from Stuttgart or Munich. Five seats, the trident in the grille, and the three vents in the front wing that mark every car the marque makes.

01From here the giveaway is the trio of vents in the front wing and the script behind them. Every Maserati is signed in the same place.

What you are buying is the badge and everything it implies, on a car sized for the streets people actually drive here. It parks where the bigger SUVs will not, and it still arrives as a Maserati — which, at the valet stand, is the entire point.

The rest is Italian in the way that matters: seats that are shaped rather than merely upholstered, the Maserati clock in the middle of the dash, and a cabin built on the assumption that a car should look like something even when it is standing still.

Every rival in this class is German.
This one is Italian.

Queries

Where can I rent a Maserati Grecale in Los Angeles?
Nizo Luxury rents the Maserati Grecale in Los Angeles — +1 (424) 303-6496. It is $229 a day; we bring it to your hotel or your home, or you collect it at no charge from our office on Robertson Boulevard.
How much does it cost to rent a Maserati Grecale in Los Angeles?
The black Grecale is $229 a day. Five days is priced as a block rather than as five separate days, and twenty-one as another; the quote takes whichever combination is cheaper for your dates, and neither has to be asked for. Delivery to our Beverly Hills partner hotels is complimentary.
What does Grecale mean?
It is a wind — the north-easterly of the Mediterranean. Maserati has named cars after winds for decades, from the Bora and the Mistral onwards, and the Grecale is the smaller of its two SUVs.
Is it big enough for four people and their luggage?
Five seats and a boot that takes a weekend for four. It is a compact SUV rather than a full-size one, which in Los Angeles is the size that actually parks.
Can I see the dates before I call?
Yes — the diary on this page is the live fleet calendar. If a date is open there, it is open.

Renting the Maserati Grecale: the short answers

Can I book the Maserati Grecale with a driver?
Yes. A chauffeur is from $100 an hour on a two-hour minimum, added to the car at its day rate — $629 for a four-hour evening in this car. No security deposit is taken on a chauffeured booking. The same car can be driven to the event and yours with the keys the morning after; the chauffeur service page has the runs and the hours.
What do I need to rent the Maserati Grecale, and can international guests book?
A driver of 21 or over with a licence held at least two years — between 21 and 24 a young-driver fee of $50 a day applies on this car, and under 21 is considered case by case. A major credit card in the primary renter's name for the refundable hold, and cover for the car: your own full-coverage policy if it extends to a rental, or our Protection plan arranged with the booking. International guests rent on a passport and a home-country licence; no International Driving Permit is needed. The hold is released 5–7 business days after a clean return, longer only if there is damage to price. If the age floor or the cover is the thing in the way, the same car goes out with a driver instead — that booking asks neither of you.
How far ahead should I book the Maserati Grecale, and can I change the dates?
There is no notice period: the calendar on this page shows the days it is free, and once a booking is paid a car that is free can be on its way to you in about an hour — same day included. Moving the dates is free, as often as you need, outside the last day before the start; a change inside it keeps one day's rate. What comes back if you cancel is set out in our terms and conditions.
Can the Maserati Grecale be delivered to my hotel, my home or LAX?
Yes. Delivery is complimentary to the Beverly Wilshire, the Four Seasons at Doheny, L’Ermitage and the Maybourne, and collection from our Robertson Boulevard office costs nothing. LAX is $150 both ways with the car in the airport parking structure or $300 both ways to the terminal, half that for one direction. Any other address is priced by distance from the office, $75 one way inside 10 miles, and itemised on the quote before you pay.
How many miles are included, and can I take the Maserati Grecale out of California?
Every car carries its own daily mileage allowance, and yours arrives in writing with the booking confirmation, together with the per-mile rate for anything over it. The car may leave the state — Las Vegas, Arizona, up the coast — as long as you tell us the plan in advance and keep the allowance in mind; it comes home to Los Angeles, since there is no one-way drop in another city.
What does a weekend in the Maserati Grecale cost, and can I rent it by the hour?
$458 for two days and $687 for three, before the Protection plan, tax and any delivery — there is no separate weekend rate, and one day is the minimum on a Saturday too. The day is the shortest self-drive booking; by the hour, the car goes out with a driver, from $100 an hour on a two-hour minimum.
