The Velar is the Range Rover that was designed as an object first. Flush door handles that deploy when you approach, a body with almost no visible seams, and the thinnest headlamps Land Rover has ever fitted — it won design awards on looks alone and then turned out to drive well too. It rides on air suspension, so the patched surfaces of a Los Angeles street simply do not arrive in the cabin, and it is quiet at freeway speed in a way that makes a long day easy.
