Black Mini Cooper Convertible with the roof down

Small On Purpose

Mini Cooper Convertible

The only convertible here you can park anywhere, and the only one that turns like a go-kart.

Everything else in this issue is trying to look bigger. This one spent sixty years refusing.

The Mini Convertible is short, wide, front-driven and pinned at the corners, with a roof that folds back like a sunroof before it goes all the way down. It is the cheapest open car we rent and the easiest to leave anywhere.

Black Mini Cooper Convertible from the rear three-quarter
01Roof stowed behind the back seats, wheels at the corners, and about as much overhang as a shopping trolley.

The wheels sit at the very corners, which is why it changes direction the way it does β€” nothing else at this money feels this eager, and the short wheelbase that makes it fun is the same thing that makes it fit.

The roof has a trick worth knowing: the front section slides back like a sunroof at any speed, so you can open it in traffic without committing to the full fold.

Everything else is trying to look bigger.
This one refused for sixty years.

Queries

Can I rent the Mini Cooper Convertible in Los Angeles?
Yes β€” it is the cheapest open-top in the fleet and the easiest to park in Santa Monica or West Hollywood. A Mini Cooper Convertible rental suits a city weekend far better than anything wider.
How much does it cost to rent a Mini Cooper Convertible in Los Angeles?
The black Mini Convertible is $102 a day. Five days is priced as a block rather than as five separate days, and twenty-one as another; the quote takes whichever combination is cheaper for your dates, and neither has to be asked for. Delivery to our Beverly Hills partner hotels is complimentary.
Can the roof open partway?
Yes β€” the front section slides back like a sunroof at any speed, so you can open it in traffic and fold it fully later.
Can I see the dates before I call?
Yes β€” the diary on this page is the live fleet calendar. If a date is open there, it is open.
