Glass To Sill, One Piece

Black Porsche Macan

The compact Porsche SUV in the finish that closes it up — roof rails, window surrounds and paint all one dark line.

Everything on this car that is not glass is black. That is the whole idea of it.

The Macan brings real Porsche handling to an SUV you can live with anywhere in Los Angeles: alert on Mulholland, planted on a wet PCH morning with all-wheel drive, and compact enough that street parking in Venice is not a project. Five seats, and a boot that takes weekend bags for two.

Black closes the Macan up. The window surrounds, the roof rails, the lower valance and the wheel-arch trim are all dark on this car, so in black paint the whole thing reads as one continuous shape from the glass to the sill rather than as a body with trim bolted to it. The silver five-spoke wheels are the one bright thing on it, and they are enough.

It is the version that looks most expensive at a hotel entrance and least like an SUV at all, which is why it is the one most often asked for by name. Three Macans are in the fleet — this one, a white and a silver — and the dates on each page are the car's own.

Queries

How much does it cost to rent a black Porsche Macan in Los Angeles?
The black Macan is $149 a day. The day rate is the whole of it on this car — there is no weekly or monthly block, so a longer booking is priced day by day. Delivery to our Beverly Hills partner hotels is complimentary; LAX delivery is charged each way, in two tiers, and the figures are on our delivery page.
Macan or Cayenne?
Size. The Macan is the compact one — two people, weekend bags, any parking structure in the city. The Cayenne is the full-size one — four adults, a week of luggage, and a longer nose to park. They drive alike; the Macan is the more eager of the two.
Does black show the Los Angeles dust?
By the second afternoon, yes — every black car does. It is hand-detailed before it reaches you, and on a week's booking we will happily send someone to wash it. If the week is beach and canyon rather than hotels and dinners, the white car stays clean-looking longer.
How do the three Macans differ?
Paint, mostly. This is the black car; the white one has the newer face, and the silver one is on its own page with its own dates. Pick by colour and by the diary.
Can I see the dates before I call?
Yes — the diary on this page is the live fleet calendar. If a date is open there, it is open.

The terms, before you commit

Refundable deposit
$500
A hold, not a charge. Back with you 5–7 business days after the car is home.
Damage and liability cover
$75 a day
Mandatory, and priced off the deposit rather than the rate. Your own qualifying full-coverage policy takes this line out of the quote entirely.
Driver, 21–24
$50 a day
Twenty-one is the floor, with a licence held two years. The higher band applies above a $1,500 deposit; this car is below it.
Shortest booking
24 hours
No maximum. Delivery is complimentary at our Robertson Boulevard lot and our four Beverly Hills partner hotels; LAX is $75 to the parking structure or $150 to the terminal, each way.

This one is the same rate at every length — it carries no multi-day block, so three days is three times one day. We would rather say that than imply a discount that is not there.
