Deep Blue, Light Grey Inside

Blue Porsche 911 Carrera 4S Cabriolet

The 992 911 Carrera 4S Cabriolet in deep metallic blue over light grey leather: a twin-turbo flat-six behind the seats, all four wheels driven and the roof folded away above.

Deep blue paint, pale leather and no roof: the 911 dressed for Los Angeles daylight.

This is the 2020 911 Carrera 4S Cabriolet in the 992 generation: a 3.0-litre twin-turbo flat-six with 443 hp, the eight-speed PDK, all-wheel drive and 3.6 seconds to 60. The paint is a deep metallic blue, the cabin is light grey leather and the roof is black fabric, photographed up and down on a palm-lined Beverly Hills street.

Blue Porsche 911 Cabriolet in profile with the roof folded, palm trees behind
01In profile with the roof stowed: one long line from nose to tail, silver multi-spoke wheels and the palms behind.

In the shade the blue is close to navy; where the sun reaches it, it turns deep and metallic, and the long bonnet and the haunches over the rear wheels pick up the sky and the palms as the car passes. Silver multi-spoke wheels, round headlamps and the crest on the nose are all the face it needs.

Open the door and the cabin is the surprise: light grey leather on the seats and door panels, darker grey at the bolsters and on the wheel, and a thin strip of blue trim across the dash that picks up the paint. Digital instruments sit behind the wheel, with the navigation screen beside them.

The black fabric roof folds away behind the rear seats in about twelve seconds, from a switch on the console, at low speed or standing still. With it down the flat-six is a few feet behind your shoulders. Two small rear seats take a bag or a jacket; the boot is under the bonnet.

Book it by the day: the deposit is held on the card rather than charged, and the car arrives hand-detailed at your hotel, your home or LAX.

More about the Blue Porsche 911 Cabriolet

Blue over light grey

A deep metallic blue puts the 911 Cabriolet in a different register from the usual dark car: navy in the shade, a proper blue in the sun, and with the light grey leather inside the open car looks bright rather than severe. It photographs as well on a hotel forecourt as it does along the coast.

The terms, before you commit

Refundable deposit
$2,000
A hold, not a charge, and released 5–7 business days after a clean return, longer only if there is damage to price.
Protection plan
$225 a day
Priced off the deposit rather than the rate. Your own qualifying full-coverage policy takes this line out of the quote entirely.
Driver, 21–24
$175 a day
Twenty-one is the floor, with a licence held two years. The higher band applies at or above a $1,500 deposit; this car is in it.
Shortest booking
24 hours
No maximum. Delivery is complimentary at our Robertson Boulevard lot and our four Beverly Hills partner hotels; LAX is $150 both ways with the car in the airport parking structure or $300 both ways to the terminal, half that for one direction.

This one is the same rate at every length — it carries no multi-day block, so three days is three times one day.

Renting the Porsche 911 Cabriolet: the short answers

Can I book the Porsche 911 Cabriolet with a driver?
Yes. A chauffeur is from $100 an hour on a two-hour minimum, added to the car at its day rate — $1,750 for a four-hour evening in this car. No security deposit is taken on a chauffeured booking. The same car can be driven to the event and yours with the keys the morning after; the chauffeur service page has the runs and the hours.
What do I need to rent the Porsche 911 Cabriolet, and can international guests book?
A driver of 21 or over with a licence held at least two years — between 21 and 24 a young-driver fee of $175 a day applies on this car, and under 21 is considered case by case. A major credit card in the primary renter's name for the refundable hold, and cover for the car: your own full-coverage policy if it extends to a rental, or our Protection plan arranged with the booking. International guests rent on a passport and a home-country licence; no International Driving Permit is needed. The hold is released 5–7 business days after a clean return, longer only if there is damage to price. If the age floor or the cover is the thing in the way, the same car goes out with a driver instead — that booking asks neither of you.
How far ahead should I book the Porsche 911 Cabriolet, and can I change the dates?
There is no notice period: the calendar on this page shows the days it is free, and once a booking is paid a car that is free can be on its way to you in about an hour — same day included. Moving the dates is free, as often as you need, outside the last day before the start; a change inside it keeps one day's rate. What comes back if you cancel is set out in our terms and conditions.
Can the Porsche 911 Cabriolet be delivered to my hotel, my home or LAX?
Yes. Delivery is complimentary to the Beverly Wilshire, the Four Seasons at Doheny, L’Ermitage and the Maybourne, and collection from our Robertson Boulevard office costs nothing. LAX is $150 both ways with the car in the airport parking structure or $300 both ways to the terminal, half that for one direction. Any other address is priced by distance from the office, $75 one way inside 10 miles, and itemised on the quote before you pay.
How many miles are included, and can I take the Porsche 911 Cabriolet out of California?
Every car carries its own daily mileage allowance, and yours arrives in writing with the booking confirmation, together with the per-mile rate for anything over it. The car may leave the state — Las Vegas, Arizona, up the coast — as long as you tell us the plan in advance and keep the allowance in mind; it comes home to Los Angeles, since there is no one-way drop in another city.
What does a weekend in the Porsche 911 Cabriolet cost, and can I rent it by the hour?
$2,700 for two days and $4,050 for three, before the Protection plan, tax and any delivery — there is no separate weekend rate, and one day is the minimum on a Saturday too. The day is the shortest self-drive booking; by the hour, the car goes out with a driver, from $100 an hour on a two-hour minimum.
