Verde Mantis is the green people picture when they hear the word Lamborghini.

This is the Urus as Lamborghini built it: a 641 hp twin-turbo V8, all-wheel drive, five seats and a real boot, 190 mph at the top. This one is Verde Mantis on gloss black wheels with green calipers, and inside the seats, the doors and the wheel rim are green leather against black.

The colour is the reason to choose this one. Against the black wheels and the dark glass the green looks brighter still, and on a body this size it shows every line — the creases down the bonnet, the hexagon cuts behind the wheels, the wide haunches. It is the Urus people stop on the pavement to photograph.

Open the door and the green carries on: green leather on the seat bolsters and the door panels, black Alcantara in the centres with URUS stitched into the seatbacks, and a green rim on the steering wheel. Under the glass roof the cabin glows on a sunny afternoon.
