Blue Mercedes-AMG GT 43 from a low front three-quarter

Four Doors

Mercedes-AMG GT 43

A GT with the roofline of a coupé, the doors of a saloon and a cabin lit like a nightclub.

AMG spent decades insisting a GT had two doors. Then it built this and stopped arguing.

The GT 43 is the four-door AMG — the low roofline and long bonnet of the two-seat car, with a back seat and a hatch behind it. In Designo Brilliant Blue, over a cabin that turns whatever colour you ask it to after dark.

Blue Mercedes-AMG GT 43 on a palm-lined street
01Long bonnet, short deck, and a roofline that never lifts. Everything about the profile is borrowed from the two-seat car.

The trick is that nothing about the shape gives away the extra doors. The roof falls all the way to the tail, the glass is shallow, and the handles sit flush — you notice the four doors only when somebody opens one from the back.

Inside, the whole fascia is a single sweep of screen and turbine vents, and the ambient lighting runs sixty-four colours through it. Los Angeles at night is what this cabin was designed for.

03In profile the four doors finally show. Until then it reads as a coupé that grew.

Queries

How much does it cost to rent a Mercedes-AMG GT 43 in Los Angeles?
The GT 43 is $229 a day. Five days is priced as a block rather than as five separate days, and twenty-one as another; the quote takes whichever combination is cheaper for your dates, and neither has to be asked for. Delivery to our Beverly Hills partner hotels is complimentary.
Is the back seat usable?
Yes — two adults fit properly, and there is a hatch rather than a boot lid, so luggage goes in the way it would in an estate. That is the whole point of the four-door GT.
Can I see the dates before I call?
Yes — the diary on this page is the live fleet calendar. If a date is open there, it is open.
